is it everything that was, is, or can yet be.

Im getting a tattoo tomorrow, nothing anyone can see right away, something i can still hide if i wanted to. Its a common symbol, but i now know why it is so popular. i never really understood its meaning until the other day when i read it in a book.
Many people think that Hindus do not believe in ONE god, they do. they just believe that that god may appear to humans in multiple names and forms, thus the numerous gods.
The symbol AUM or Om is a symbol that represents God or Brahman, "the impersonal Absolute of Hinduism — omnipotent, omnipresent, and the source of all manifest existence. Brahman, in itself, is incomprehensible; so a symbol becomes mandatory to help us realize the Unknowable."

"Om provides a dualistic viewpoint. On one hand, it projects the mind beyond the immediate to what is abstract and inexpressible. On the other hand, it makes the absolute more tangible and comprehensive. It encompasses all potentialities and possibilities; it is everything that was, is, or can yet be. It is omnipotent and likewise remains undefined."

Im trying to find my way around life, im not saying getting this as a tattoo will solve my problems, i just want it to be there to remind me that there is something higher than me something that can give me guidance and make me think about the possibilities I have in life.

I wasnt brought up a Hindu nor would i call myself one now but my stepfather is, weve gone to the temple to pray many times even though he knows i dont fully understand the religion yet. but i want to learn.

Im getting the tattoo on the top of my neck behind my ear, in black and gray,
i dont have to see it for me to be reminded, as long as it is there i'll know how to process my thoughts better i think,

Real potential and insight comes from within. Youth is full of possibilities that it confuses us all. I dont know what I want yet either. Dont worry, time and experience will tell.
